Stephanie Kay Hardiman, age 58, of Princeton, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. Stephanie was born on Friday, January 23, 1959 to Burniss “Red” and Wanda Lyles Priestly in Princeton, IN.
Stephanie grew up in Princeton and was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church. She is a 1977 graduate of Princeton Community High School and was a proud member of the 1976 Indiana State Champion Princeton Tiger Marching Band. She also performed with them in the 1977 Inaugural Parade for newly elected President Jimmy Carter. Stephanie’s smile was ever present and she was known for her pleasant disposition. In 1980, she married John “J.C.” Hardiman, who preceded her in 1993. She attended the University of Evansville, then transferred to the University of Southern Indiana, graduating in 1992 with a degree in nursing. Stephanie’s nursing career spanned many jobs, from in-home health care to her love for working labor and delivery, especially working the NICU. Her most recent nursing position was with Maxim Home Healthcare Services.
Stephanie’s interests ranged from quilting and sewing to cooking and fine tuning each recipe until it was perfect. She was known for her Captain Morgan Rum Cake. She enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Stephanie is survived by her son, John Cameron Hardiman, of Princeton and daughters, Amanda (Nathan) Madison and Melissa Hardiman, both of Princeton; sister, Patricia Priestly, of Indianapolis and grandchildren, Addison, Elise, Ethan and Kenleigh, all of Princeton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, and brother, Eric.
The family has entrusted Doyle Funeral Home, Princeton’s family owned, full service funeral home, with charge of the arrangements.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Doyle Funeral Home, located at 520 S. Main St. in Princeton, IN 47670, with Rev. Edwards officiating. Internment will take place in Sand Hill Cemetery, located west of Princeton.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
