Virginia Rose Smith , of Fort Branch, age 81, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Transcendent Healthcare Center of Owensville. She was born in Gibson County on August 10, 1932 to Silas & Beatrice Strain, both of whom have proceeded. She was a homemaker whom devoted herself to her husband and their family.
On April 12, 1953, in Patoka, IN, she was married to “Bill” William Edward Smith and was a loving wife to Bill for over 60 years and was an active member of the New Life House of Prayer in Haubstadt, IN.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons; Daniel Wayne Smith and James Edward Smith, brother, James Strain and sister, Mary Bratton.
Virginia is survived by her husband, “Bill” William Smith Sr. and sons; Billy (Cindy) Smith Jr. of Ft. Branch, IN, Fred J. ( DeNeice) Smith of Haubstadt, IN. Other survivors include 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday October 1, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Doyle Funeral Home, located at 520 S. Main St., Princeton, IN 47670, with Pastors Dustin McCandless & David Dixon officiating. Internment will take place in Walnut Hill Cemetery of Ft. Branch.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00 P.M.
