Deven J. Pohl, 20, of Princeton, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 surrounded by his family after a 20 month battle with cancer. He was born on Tuesday, May 16, 2000 to Dan and Amy Pohl of Princeton, IN. He was a lifelong resident of Gibson County and was pursuing an agriculture degree from Vincennes University. Deven was a 2018 graduate of Gibson Southern High School where he was actively involved in the FFA and theater. Deven was also a 10 year 4-H member. He was a quiet fun-loving young man that had a love of the outdoors through hunting (especially waterfowl), kayaking, fishing and ATV riding. He also enjoyed farming and technology. He will always be remembered as a funny, stubborn, adventurous brother, son, and friend. Deven attended Bethel Memorial church of Princeton.
He is survived by his parents, Dan (Amy) Pohl; siblings, Clara, Ezra, and Ashley Pohl all at home; his maternal grandparents, Larry (Kathy)Snyder of Centerville, IN; paternal grandparents, Don (Sharon) Pohl of Fort Branch, IN; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and special friend, Sami Purcell of Haubstadt, IN.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Bethel Memorial Church located at 1520 S. Main St. in Princeton, IN 47670 with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. This service will be able to be live streamed by going to http://www.bethelmemorial.org and selecting the link for the Celebration of Life Service for Deven Pohl. In order to accommodate the mandates established by the state government concerning the COVID 19 Virus, social distancing will be observed and masks will be required.
