Charles David Ray Sr. 71, Princeton, IN Thursday, March 20, 1947 – Sunday, January 6, 2019

Charles David Ray Sr., 71, of Princeton, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019. He was born in St Louis, MO on Thursday, March 20, 1947, to James Logan Ray Sr. and Ruth Faye Roy Ray, both of whom have preceded. Mr. Ray has been an area resident since 1972 and was an engineer with Norfolk Southern railroad, retiring after 39 years of service. On June 20, 1964, he married Claudia Hornberger who survives of Princeton, IN. David is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife Claudia, Son Charles David Ray Jr. of Princeton, IN; Daughters Cindy Whitehouse and Carla Ray both of Princeton, IN. He is also survived by brothers Jerry (Joyce) Hagene of O’Fallon, IL, and James Logan Ray Jr. of Potosi, MO. Other survivors include 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded by 2 brothers, Clarence and William.
Per Mr. Ray’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be a time of visitation with the family on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Doyle Funeral Home, located at 520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN 47670 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a memorial service to take place at 7:00pm.
